How can electricians use AI?
Short answer
UK electricians can use AI to draft quotes and job descriptions, chase invoices, catch missed calls, reply to reviews and write social posts about completed jobs. It is useful for paperwork around certificates, but it must not do cable sizing, fault diagnosis or BS 7671 calculations. You sign the certificate, so you check the work.

Electrical contractors with a team
Contractors running several jobs get more from a job management app with AI features and a business chat plan, so customer and site details don't sit in personal accounts. For CIS and VAT reverse charge figures use the CIS calculator and VAT reverse charge checker, not a chatbot's guess.
Where it must stop
AI can quote regulations wrongly with total confidence. Don't rely on it for design, cable sizing, earthing, Part P notification rules or test results. Check anything technical against BS 7671 and your scheme provider.
