AI review tools for plumbers in the UK
When someone searches for a plumber near them, the reviews on your Google Business Profile are often the first thing they compare. A steady trickle of honest reviews, with sensible replies, does more than a burst of five-star ratings in one week. The tools here range from Google's free review link to paid apps that send the request for you after every job.
Prices were re-checked on each provider's own page; the date is next to each one. Rules and figures from GOV.UK are linked where they're used.
Ask at the right moment
The best time to ask is when the job is done and the customer can see it working: hot water back on, the leak gone. Google lets you share a review link or QR code from your Business Profile (Google). Put the QR code on your invoice and send the link in the same text that confirms the job is finished.
What you can't do
Google's policy forbids offering money, discounts or free work in exchange for a review, and asking only the customers you think will be happy (Google). Since 6 April 2025 UK law also bans fake reviews and reviews that hide an incentive (CMA). Google can remove reviews and stop a profile receiving new ones for a set time (Google).
Replying to a bad review
Reply calmly, with the facts, and offer to sort it out by phone. Never post the customer's address or other private details. If a review mentions gas safety, say what you did and that you're Gas Safe registered, but only if you are: registration is a legal requirement for gas work (GOV.UK), and claiming a scheme you're not on is misleading.

What to check before you choose
- Do you need automation at all? If you finish 10 jobs a week, a text with your Google link may be enough.
- Paid apps priced in dollars: NiceJob starts at $75 a month and Podium at $399 (checked 15 and 14 October 2026).
- Does the app send the same request to every customer? Filtering out unhappy customers breaks Google's rules.
- Can it pull finished jobs from your job management app automatically, or will you type them in?
- Check text-message support for UK mobile numbers before paying.
A prompt to start with
Paste this into ChatGPT or Claude, filling in the brackets:
Write a short, polite text to [customer name] after we [job done] at [street]. Thank them, say we hope everything's working, and ask if they'd leave an honest Google review using this link: [link]. No incentives, no pressure, under 300 characters, British spelling.

Questions
Can I offer a discount for a Google review?
No. Google's policy bans offering payment, discounts or free goods or services for reviews, and UK law since April 2025 bans concealed incentivised reviews. Ask every customer, with no reward.
Is NiceJob worth it for a plumber?
It suits firms finishing lots of jobs a week. Its Starter plan was $75 a month with a 14-day trial when checked on 15 October 2026, and it sends review requests by text and email. For fewer jobs, Google's free link does the same job.
Are these prices in pounds?
Not all. Where a provider only publishes US dollar prices we show dollars, so check the price in pounds at checkout.
