AI receptionist tools for window cleaners in the UK

Window cleaners run rounds, so most calls are about a regular slot: new customers wanting to join, and existing ones asking when you're next coming. A receptionist that adds new customers to a waiting list and answers 'when are you due?' frees you from the phone on the ladder.

Prices were re-checked on each provider's own page; the date is next to each one. Rules and figures from GOV.UK are linked where they're used.

Joining the round

Ask the address, property type (terrace, semi, detached, flats), windows front and back, conservatory, access to the back, and how often they want a clean.

Existing customers

Most calls are 'you missed me' or 'can you come early'. Have the receptionist take the details and say you'll confirm by text; or connect it to a scheduler if the tool supports booking.

Safety on commercial enquiries

For commercial and high-level work, the Work at Height Regulations 2005 apply to employers and anyone controlling the work (HSE). Take building height and access details so you can plan or decline.

A prompt to start with

Paste this into ChatGPT or Claude, or use it as your AI receptionist's instructions, filling in the brackets:

You answer the phone for [business name], a window cleaner in [area]. For new customers: address and postcode, property type, windows front and back, conservatory, rear access, how often. For existing customers asking about their clean, take the address and say we'll text to confirm. For commercial work, ask how many storeys and what access there is. Don't quote prices.

Free tools

Price a job with the quote and VAT calculator (20%, 5%, 0% and reverse charge), or work out your day rate (see how much to charge per hour). When you do pick up yourself, see how to answer the phone professionally. Before paying for a tool, check it pays for itself with the AI tool break-even calculator.

Questions

Per call or per minute?

Window cleaning calls are short, so per-minute plans like Rosie's may work out cheaper than per-call ones. Compare with your call volume.

What's the cheapest option?

Smith.ai lists a free plan with 25 calls a month, then $3.00 a call; Upfirst starts at $24.95 for 30 calls. Checked 15 October 2026.

Are these prices in pounds?

Not all. Where a provider only publishes US dollar prices we show dollars, so check the price in pounds at checkout.

Do you get paid if I sign up?
