AI scheduling tools for tilers and flooring fitters in the UK

Tiling depends on everyone before you: the plasterer, the plumber's first fix, the screed drying. If one of them runs late, your day is lost. Scheduling software won't make screed dry faster, but it lets you see dependencies, move a job and tell the customer in one go, and fill the gap with a small job nearby.

Prices were re-checked on each provider's own page; the date is next to each one. Rules and figures from GOV.UK are linked where they're used.

Build in curing and drying time

Put the prep, tiling and grouting days on the job as separate visits with gaps for adhesive and grout to cure, following the manufacturer's times. ServiceM8 has a free plan for 1 user and 30 jobs a month; YourTradebase is £29 a month plus VAT (checked 15 October 2026).

Working on bigger sites

Tiling on new builds or for main contractors is usually under CIS: deductions are 20% registered, 30% unregistered and 0% with gross payment status (GOV.UK). Keep the main contractor's site start dates in your diary as fixed blocks, and domestic jobs around them.

Fill the gaps

Keep a list of small jobs (splashbacks, repairs, regrouting) by area, so a cancelled day can be filled. If you employ tilers, travel between jobs counts as working time for minimum wage purposes (GOV.UK). Customers can book quote visits with Calendly's free plan.

What to check before you choose

  • Can one job have several visits with gaps between them?
  • Can you see a whole week and drag jobs around easily?
  • Customer reminders the day before: what do texts cost? Tradify charges £0.10 each.
  • Per-job pricing (ServiceM8) or per-user pricing (Tradify, YourTradebase)?
  • Can you record materials ordered against each job?

A prompt to start with

Paste this into ChatGPT or Claude, filling in the brackets:

You plan the fortnight for [business name], a tiler in [area]. Here are the jobs with rooms, square metres, estimated days, curing gaps and what other trades must finish first: [paste]. Build a plan, fill gaps with the small jobs on this list [paste], and write a short text to each customer confirming dates.
