AI scheduling tools for roofers in the UK
Roofing schedules are set by the weather as much as by the customer. A wet week pushes three jobs back, scaffolding has to be booked and struck around you, and emergency leak calls arrive in exactly the weather you can't work in. Scheduling software won't stop the rain, but it makes moving a week of jobs, and telling every customer, a ten-minute job instead of an evening on the phone.
Prices were re-checked on each provider's own page; the date is next to each one. Rules and figures from GOV.UK are linked where they're used.
Plan for weather days
Keep a buffer each week rather than booking every dry day solid, and put scaffold erection and strike dates on the job alongside your own visits. Tradify lists drag-and-drop scheduling with staff locations and Google Calendar sync, so dragging a job to next Tuesday shows up on everyone's phone. Powered Now is £28 a month for one user excluding VAT (checked 15 October 2026).
Safety planning belongs in the diary
The Work at Height Regulations 2005 require work at height to be properly planned, supervised and carried out by competent people (HSE). On domestic jobs, CDM 2015 client duties normally pass to the contractor (HSE). Attaching the method statement and scaffold details to each job means the plan travels with the booking, not in a separate folder.
Leak call-outs
Emergency leak calls need a slot today and a proper visit later. Log the temporary repair as one visit and the permanent repair as a linked follow-up, so the customer gets one record and one invoice trail. If you employ roofers, travel between jobs counts as working time for minimum wage purposes (GOV.UK), so group call-outs by area where you can.

Questions
What's the cheapest scheduling app for a one-person roofing business?
Powered Now's one-user plan is £28 a month excluding VAT, and YourTradebase is £29 a month plus VAT. ServiceM8 has a free plan for 1 user and 30 jobs a month. Checked 15 October 2026.
Can I just use my phone calendar?
