AI review tools for joiners and carpenters in the UK

Joinery is judged on finish: how the doors hang, how tight the joints are, how the staircase looks a year later. Reviews with photos of the finished work, and a word about tidiness and timekeeping, do more for you than any advert. The trick is asking every customer, at the right moment, without breaking the rules.

Prices were re-checked on each provider's own page; the date is next to each one. Rules and figures from GOV.UK are linked where they're used.

Ask when the job's signed off

Ask once the customer has seen the finished work and paid, with a photo of it. Share your Google review link or QR code from your Business Profile (Google). For big jobs such as kitchens or staircases, a short personal message works better than an automated one.

What's not allowed

Google bans offering discounts, payment or free work for reviews, and asking only the customers you expect to be happy (Google). Since 6 April 2025, UK law bans fake reviews and reviews that hide an incentive (CMA). Google can stop a profile receiving new reviews if it finds fake engagement (Google).

Mention schemes only if you're in them

If you fit replacement windows or doors, the authorised schemes include Fensa, CERTASS, Certsure, NAPIT, ASSURE and Blue Flame Certification (GOV.UK). Mentioning one in your replies helps, but only if you're registered: misusing a trust mark is banned outright under the DMCC Act (CMA).

A prompt to start with

Paste this into ChatGPT or Claude, filling in the brackets:

Write a short message to [customer name] now their [job] is finished. Thank them, attach a photo of the finished work, mention the care instructions for [timber or finish], and ask if they'd leave an honest Google review here: [link]. Under 300 characters, British spelling, no incentive.

Questions

Can I offer a discount for a Google review?

No. Google's policy bans offering payment, discounts or free goods or services for reviews, and UK law since April 2025 bans concealed incentivised reviews. Ask every customer, with no reward.

How do I reply to a review about a delay?

Thank them, explain briefly if it was outside your control (materials, other trades), and say what you've changed. Keep it short and polite.

Are these prices in pounds?

Not all. Where a provider only publishes US dollar prices we show dollars, so check the price in pounds at checkout.

Do you get paid if I sign up?

Some links may become affiliate links, and we'll label them when they do. It doesn't change what we list. See how we make money.
