Social media post generator

Turn a finished job into a ready-to-post update for Facebook, Instagram or your Google Business Profile. Describe the job in a line or two, pick the platform and copy the post. It runs in your browser, nothing is stored, and it never asks for the customer's name or address.

How to use it

  1. Take a before and an after photo on every job, with the customer's permission.
  2. Fill in a line about the job and the area (the town or district, never the street).
  3. Copy the post, add the photo, and post it. Optional: paste the prompt into ChatGPT to vary the wording so your posts don't all sound the same.
  4. Plan a month in one sitting with AI social media posts for tradesmen, and schedule with Buffer's free plan.

Worked example

A plumber in Headingley who swapped a leaking combi for a new boiler in the loft gets a Facebook post that names the area, describes the job in plain words, adds "Done in a day, and the customer has their kitchen cupboard back", and ends with a call to action and a note that the photo is shared with permission. Switch to Instagram and it adds five hashtags such as #Headingley and #Headingleyplumber.

The rules behind it

  • Honest claims. Marketing posts by businesses, including on your own social media, are covered by the UK advertising code, which says ads must not mislead (ASA: CAP Code, checked 17 October 2026). Don't claim "cheapest" or "best" unless you can prove it.
  • No fake reviews. Since 6 April 2025, fake reviews and hiding incentivised reviews are banned practices (CMA guide on GOV.UK). Don't invent testimonials in posts.
  • Customer privacy. Photos of someone's home can identify them. Ask first and crop out anything that shows where they live (ICO).

Questions

Is there a free AI social media post generator for small businesses?

Yes. This page turns a finished job into a Facebook, Instagram or Google Business Profile post in your browser, free and with no sign-up, and gives you a ChatGPT prompt to vary the wording.

What should a tradesman post on social media?

Before-and-after photos of real jobs, short tips, seasonal reminders and the occasional behind-the-scenes post. Name the area, not the street, and ask customers before using photos of their home.

How often should a small business post?

Little and often beats bursts. Many small trades manage two or three posts a week by posting every finished job. Consistency matters more than volume.

Can I post photos of a customer's house?

Ask first. Photos of someone's home can identify them, so crop out house numbers, number plates, faces and street views, and keep their name out of the post.

Should I post on Google Business Profile?

Yes, if you have one. Posts show on your profile in Google Search and Maps and are free. Keep them short with one photo and a button.
