AI scheduling tools for cleaning businesses in the UK

Cleaning businesses run on repeat bookings: the same houses every week or fortnight, offices out of hours, and one-off end-of-tenancy cleans that come in at short notice. The schedule is the business. Good scheduling software keeps rounds tight, sends customers a reminder, and makes cover easy when a cleaner is off sick.

Prices were re-checked on each provider's own page; the date is next to each one. Rules and figures from GOV.UK are linked where they're used.

Recurring rounds

Set up regular clients as recurring jobs so they appear every week or fortnight without retyping. ServiceM8 includes recurring jobs on all plans and is priced by jobs a month rather than by user; Jobber lists online booking and, on its Connect plan, automated client reminders.

Travel time costs money

If you employ cleaners, minimum wage rules count travel from one work assignment to another as working time (GOV.UK). The National Living Wage is £12.71 an hour from April 2026 for workers aged 21 and over (GOV.UK). A round that zigzags across town can push pay below the minimum once travel is counted, so group clients by area.

Online booking for one-off cleans

For end-of-tenancy and deep cleans, let customers pick a slot online. Calendly has an always-free plan for basic booking; a full job app adds addresses, checklists and invoices to each booking.

What to check before you choose

  • Recurring jobs on every plan, or only on higher tiers?
  • Per-job pricing (ServiceM8) can cost more than per-user pricing if you run many short cleans.
  • Can cleaners see key safe codes and access notes securely in the app?
  • Automatic reminders by text: what does each text cost?
  • Can you reassign a whole day's round to another cleaner in one go?

A prompt to start with

Paste this into ChatGPT or Claude, filling in the brackets:

You plan the rounds for [business name], a cleaning company in [area]. Here are the regular clients with postcodes, visit length and preferred days: [paste], and the cleaners with their available hours: [paste]. Build a weekly plan that keeps each cleaner within one area per day, shows travel gaps, and lists any client who doesn't fit.

Questions

Do I have to pay cleaners for travel between houses?

For minimum wage purposes, travel between work assignments counts as working time (GOV.UK). Travel from home to the first job generally doesn't.

What's the cheapest way to start?

ServiceM8's free plan covers 30 jobs a month for one user, and Calendly has a free plan for basic booking. Checked 15 and 14 October 2026.

Are these prices in pounds?

Not all. Where a provider only publishes US dollar prices we show dollars, so check the price in pounds at checkout.
