AI invoicing tools for tilers and flooring fitters in the UK
Tilers often invoice both homeowners and the builders or fitters they work for. The subcontract side brings CIS deductions and payment statements, and getting labour and materials split correctly saves money.
Prices were re-checked on each provider's own page; the date is next to each one. Rules and figures from GOV.UK are linked where they're used.
CIS on your invoices
Contractors deduct CIS from your labour at 20% if you're registered or 30% if not. Materials you paid for directly are taken off first, so show them separately (GOV.UK). Use the CIS calculator to check payments.
Payment and deduction statements
Your contractor must give you a payment and deduction statement within 14 days of the end of each tax month (GOV.UK). Keep them: you claim the deductions on your Self Assessment return.
Gross payment status
Once your construction turnover is high enough (at least £30,000 a year as a sole trader, ignoring VAT and materials, among other tests), you can apply to be paid without deductions (GOV.UK).
