AI receptionist tools for heating engineers in the UK
Heating engineers have the most seasonal phones in the trades: breakdowns spike in the first cold week, and servicing and landlord safety checks fill the calendar the rest of the year. An AI receptionist that triages breakdowns and books routine visits keeps both moving.
Prices were re-checked on each provider's own page; the date is next to each one. Rules and figures from GOV.UK are linked where they're used.
Breakdown triage
Ask: is there any heating or hot water, is anyone vulnerable in the property, what's the boiler make and any fault code? If the caller smells gas, the receptionist must tell them to call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 (National Gas) and not book a visit.
Servicing and landlord checks
Landlords need an annual gas safety check by a Gas Safe registered engineer on each appliance and flue (GOV.UK). A receptionist can book these from agent calls, taking tenant contact details and access times.
Heat pump enquiries
Callers asking about the £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant (GOV.UK) need an MCS certified installer. Have the receptionist ask the property type and current heating so you can qualify the lead.

You answer the phone for [business name], a heating engineer in [area]. Get the caller's name, address, number, boiler make and any fault code.
