AI social media tools for garages and mechanics in the UK

Garage content that works explains things drivers worry about: what a warning light means, why tyres need checking before winter, what happens in an MOT. It positions you as the honest local option. Short workshop clips and before-and-after repairs round it out.

Prices were re-checked on each provider's own page; the date is next to each one. Rules and figures from GOV.UK are linked where they're used.

Explain, don't upsell

Posts on tyre tread, winter checks and common MOT failures are easy to draft with ChatGPT; check every technical point yourself. A reminder that drivers can get an MOT up to a month (minus a day) early and keep their renewal date (GOV.UK) is useful and accurate.

Workshop clips

Short clips of a repair or a worn part next to a new one explain your work. Opus Clip can cut longer videos into short clips (free plan with limited credits; checked 14 October 2026). Keep customers' number plates out of shot.

Badges and claims

Show approvals and trade association logos only while you hold them; misusing a trust mark is banned outright (CMA). Schedule posts with Buffer, free for up to 3 channels when checked on 14 October 2026.

A prompt to start with

Paste this into ChatGPT or Claude, filling in the brackets:

Write five short social posts for [business name], a garage in [town]: what a dashboard warning light means, winter tyre checks, three common MOT failures, an MOT reminder (you can book up to a month early and keep your date), and one introducing [technician]. Plain British English, no scare tactics, under 60 words each.

Free tools

Price a job with the quote and VAT calculator (20%, 5%, 0% and reverse charge), or work out your day rate (see how much to charge per hour). MOT reminder, estimate and extra-work prompts: ChatGPT prompts for garages. Before paying for a tool, check it pays for itself with the AI tool break-even calculator.

Questions

How many posts a week should I do?

There's no official number. Pick a rate you can keep up, such as one finished job a week, and use a scheduler such as Buffer (free for up to 3 channels when checked on 15 October 2026) so it goes out while you're working.

Should I post prices?

Post fixed prices you actually charge, such as your MOT price (the maximum for a car is £54.85). For repairs, explain what affects the price instead.

Are these prices in pounds?

Not all. Where a provider only publishes US dollar prices we show dollars, so check the price in pounds at checkout.

Do you get paid if I sign up?
