Price list generator
Turn your services and prices into a clear price list for your website, Google profile, leaflet or shop window. Choose whether you're VAT registered and it shows prices the way UK consumers must see them, with VAT included and any call-out or minimum charge alongside. It runs in your browser and nothing is stored.
How to use it
- Put each service on its own line as "Service | price | note", for example "Boiler service | 95 | annual service, most gas boilers".
- Pick your VAT status and who your customers are. For homeowners, the list always shows prices including VAT.
- Add any call-out or minimum charge so it sits next to the prices.
- Copy it to your website and leaflet. Google's rules don't allow prices in your profile description, so put them on your website or in your profile's services list; write the description with the Google Business Profile description generator.
Worked example
A window cleaner who isn't VAT registered lists terraced, semi and detached houses at £15, £18 and £25 every 4 weeks, a conservatory roof at £40 and gutter clearing from £60. The list says no VAT is added and that unlisted jobs are quoted first. If they were VAT registered and entered prices excluding VAT, the tool would show £18, £21.60 and £30 for homeowners.
The UK rules behind it
- Total price up front. Traders must give consumers the total price, including mandatory charges such as VAT and booking or delivery fees; hiding fees until later (drip pricing) is illegal (CMA: providing clear and accurate information about prices, checked 18 October 2026).
- When you can't give a total. If the price depends on the job, give customers what they need to work it out, such as an hourly or per-metre rate, as prominently as the price you can show.
- "From" prices. Allowed if they include all mandatory charges and don't mislead about what the price covers.

Questions
Do prices for customers have to include VAT?
For consumers, yes: the CMA says the total price must include mandatory charges such as VAT. You can show prices excluding VAT to business customers.
Can I use 'from' prices on my price list?
Yes, if the starting price includes all mandatory charges, is genuinely available, and doesn't mislead about what it covers.
Should I put prices on my website?
Many customers prefer it, and it saves time on enquiries. If a job varies, give a starting price or a rate and say what changes it.
What if my price depends on the job?
Give customers the information to work it out, such as an hourly rate, per-metre rate or call-out charge, as prominently as the rest of the price.
Is there a free price list maker?
Yes. This page builds a price list in your browser, free and with no sign-up, and gives a ChatGPT prompt to tidy the wording.
