AI review tools for garages and mechanics in the UK
Drivers choose garages largely on trust: fair prices, honest advice about what really needs doing, and the car back when promised. Reviews that mention those things are what people scan for. Every collection is a chance to ask, as long as you ask everyone.

Ask at collection
Hand over a card with a QR code for your Google review link at collection, or text it the same day (Google). Customers who've just been treated fairly are the most likely to write.
Stay inside the rules
A discount on the next service in return for a review breaks Google's policy, which bans incentives and selective asking (Google). UK law since April 2025 bans fake reviews and concealed incentivised reviews (CMA).
Replies about price
Complaints often concern price. Reply calmly and factually; for MOTs it can help to note the maximum fee for a car is £54.85, with no VAT (GOV.UK), if that's relevant. ChatGPT can draft a first version; edit it before posting.

What to check before you choose
- Manual first: a QR card at the counter.
- NiceJob from $75 a month; Podium from $399 (checked 14 October 2026).
- Trustpilot's free plan allows 50 automated invitations a month.
- Same request to every customer.
- No registration numbers or names in replies.
A prompt to start with
Paste this into ChatGPT or Claude, filling in the brackets:
Write a short text to [customer name] after collecting their [vehicle] from [service or repair]. Thank them, remind them of the next MOT or service date [date], and ask if they'd leave an honest Google review here: [link]. Under 300 characters, British spelling, no discount or offer.

Questions
Can I offer a discount for a Google review?
No. Google's policy bans offering payment, discounts or free goods or services for reviews, and UK law since April 2025 bans concealed incentivised reviews. Ask every customer, with no reward.
Can I mention a customer's car in my reply?
Keep it general. Don't post registration numbers or anything that identifies the customer.
Are these prices in pounds?
Not all. Where a provider only publishes US dollar prices we show dollars, so check the price in pounds at checkout.
