AI quoting tools for joiners and carpenters in the UK

Joinery quotes depend on timber, ironmongery and finish, and on what's hidden in the wall. Bespoke work means every quote is a bit different. A price book for common items (hanging a door, fitting skirting per metre) and an AI assistant for the bespoke scope make it quicker.

Prices were re-checked on each provider's own page; the date is next to each one. Rules and figures from GOV.UK are linked where they're used.

Price books for repeat items

Hang a door, fit a lock, skirting and architrave per metre, boxing in: store these as fixed items with your rates. Fergus lists price books on its pricing page, so quotes stay consistent; most job apps let you save items.

Bespoke work

For fitted furniture and staircases, write down the design, timber or board, finish, ironmongery and who paints it. Include a drawing reference and the number of site visits.

Materials prices

Timber and sheet prices move. State how long the quote is valid, and whether materials will be re-priced if the job starts later.

A prompt to start with

Paste this into ChatGPT or Claude, filling in the brackets:

Write a quote scope for bespoke joinery: [e.g. alcove wardrobes either side of a chimney breast, MDF, shaker doors, hanging rail and two shelves each side]. Include materials, finish (primed for painting or painted), ironmongery, what's excluded (decorating, moving sockets), deposit for materials, lead time, validity and payment terms. British English, short bullets.

Questions

Should I take a deposit?

For bespoke materials, many joiners do. Put the amount and what it covers in the quote.

Which app has price books?

Fergus lists price books; Essentials is from £39 a month. Tradify Lite is £34 per user a month. Checked 15 October 2026.

Are these prices in pounds?

Not all. Where a provider only publishes US dollar prices we show dollars, so check the price in pounds at checkout.
