AI social media tools for plumbers in the UK

Social media for a plumber isn't about going viral. It's about a customer seeing that you're local, tidy and still trading when they look you up. Photos of finished work, short how-to clips (where's your stopcock?) and seasonal reminders about boiler services do most of the work. The tools below make that a ten-minute job rather than an evening.

Prices were re-checked on each provider's own page; the date is next to each one. Rules and figures from GOV.UK are linked where they're used.

What to post

Before-and-after photos of bathrooms and boiler swaps, a short video showing how to bleed a radiator, and a reminder each autumn to book a boiler service. Ask before posting anything that shows a customer's house number, car registration or face. Canva's free plan has templates for posts and leaflets.

Badges and claims

If you show the Gas Safe logo, make sure your registration is current: you must be on the register to do gas work and renew every year (GOV.UK). Misusing a trust mark is one of the practices banned outright under UK consumer law (CMA). The same goes for manufacturer approvals and trade body badges.

Post once, appear everywhere

A scheduler sends the same post to Facebook, Instagram and your Google Business Profile. Buffer lists Google Business Profile as a channel and is free for up to 3 channels; its Essentials plan was $5 a month per channel billed yearly when checked on 15 October 2026. Google Business Profile posts can carry offers and updates.

What to check before you choose

  • Do you need a scheduler? If you post once a week from your phone, probably not.
  • Free plan limits: Buffer free covers 3 channels and 10 scheduled posts per channel at a time.
  • Canva's free AI allowance is limited; check what resets each month.
  • Prices in dollars for Buffer and Opus Clip; your card provider may add a fee.
  • Keep customer permission for any photo of their home.

A prompt to start with

Paste this into ChatGPT or Claude, filling in the brackets:

Write three short social posts for [business name], a plumber in [town]. 1) A finished bathroom refit in [area], with what we did. 2) A tip on finding and turning off your stopcock. 3) A reminder to book a boiler service before winter. Friendly, plain British English, no hype, under 60 words each, with one relevant hashtag.

Questions

How many posts a week should I do?

There's no official number. Pick a rate you can keep up, such as one finished job a week, and use a scheduler such as Buffer (free for up to 3 channels when checked on 15 October 2026) so it goes out while you're working.

Can ChatGPT write my posts?

Yes, as a first draft. Give it the real job details and a photo description, then edit it so it sounds like you. Don't let it invent prices, guarantees or accreditations.

Are these prices in pounds?

Not all. Where a provider only publishes US dollar prices we show dollars, so check the price in pounds at checkout.

Do you get paid if I sign up?

Some links may become affiliate links, and we'll label them when they do. It doesn't change what we list. See how we make money.
