AI review tools for painters and decorators in the UK

Customers choosing a decorator want to know you'll be tidy, protect their floors and furniture, and finish when you said. Reviews that mention those things matter more than star ratings. A short, polite request at the end of every job, with a photo of the finished room, is usually all it takes.

Prices were re-checked on each provider's own page; the date is next to each one. Rules and figures from GOV.UK are linked where they're used.

When to ask

Ask when the dust sheets are off and the furniture's back, while the customer is pleased with the room. Send your Google review link or QR code (Google) with a photo of the finished work.

What you can't do

Google bans offering discounts, payment or free work for reviews, and asking only happy customers (Google). UK law since April 2025 bans fake reviews and concealed incentivised reviews (CMA), and the CMA can fine up to 10% of global turnover for breaches of consumer law (CMA).

Trade badges in replies

If you mention a trade association or manufacturer approval in a reply or on your profile, make sure it's current. Misusing a trust mark is banned outright under the DMCC Act (CMA).

A prompt to start with

Paste this into ChatGPT or Claude, filling in the brackets:

Write a short thank-you text to [customer name] for the [rooms] we decorated at [street]. Mention the paint colours and finishes in case they need touch-ups ([details]), and ask if they'd leave an honest Google review here: [link]. Under 300 characters, British spelling, no incentive.

Questions

Can I offer a discount for a Google review?

No. Google's policy bans offering payment, discounts or free goods or services for reviews, and UK law since April 2025 bans concealed incentivised reviews. Ask every customer, with no reward.

What should I do about a review complaining about mess?

Apologise, say what you'll do differently, and offer to come back to sort anything left. Keep it short and polite.

Are these prices in pounds?

Not all. Where a provider only publishes US dollar prices we show dollars, so check the price in pounds at checkout.

Do you get paid if I sign up?

Some links may become affiliate links, and we'll label them when they do. It doesn't change what we list. See how we make money.
