AI social media tools for roofers in the UK

Roofing is hard for customers to picture, which makes good photos valuable: the old roof, the strip-out, the new tiles, the finished leadwork. Short clips from the scaffold do well, and drone shots show a whole roof at once. The tools below help you turn those into regular posts without spending your evenings on it.

Prices were re-checked on each provider's own page; the date is next to each one. Rules and figures from GOV.UK are linked where they're used.

Drone photos: the rules first

A drone gives the best roof shots, but the CAA requires a Flyer ID for drones of 100g or more, and an Operator ID for drones of 250g or more or 100g or more with a camera (CAA). Check the Drone Code before flying over a customer's street, and ask the customer before you post their roof.

What to post

Before-and-after pairs, a short clip of a ridge being re-pointed, and a seasonal reminder to check gutters before winter. Canva's free plan has templates for side-by-side posts, and Opus Clip can cut a long walk-round video into short clips (free plan with limited credits; checked 14 October 2026).

Badges and claims

If you show a scheme or manufacturer logo, keep your membership current: misusing a trust mark is banned outright under UK consumer law (CMA). Don't let an AI tool add guarantees or accreditations you haven't given it. Schedule a month of posts with Buffer, free for up to 3 channels when checked on 14 October 2026.

A prompt to start with

Paste this into ChatGPT or Claude, filling in the brackets:

Write four social posts for [business name], a roofer in [town], from these job notes: [paste]. One before-and-after, one leadwork close-up, one 'what we found when we stripped it', one autumn gutter reminder. Plain British English, no hype, no guarantees I haven't listed here: [list]. Under 60 words each.

Free tools

Price a job with the quote and VAT calculator (20%, 5%, 0% and reverse charge), or work out your day rate (see how much to charge per hour). Survey report, weather delay and scaffold prompts: ChatGPT prompts for roofers. Before paying for a tool, check it pays for itself with the AI tool break-even calculator.

Questions

How many posts a week should I do?

There's no official number. Pick a rate you can keep up, such as one finished job a week, and use a scheduler such as Buffer (free for up to 3 channels when checked on 15 October 2026) so it goes out while you're working.

Do I need a licence to use a drone for roof photos?

You need a CAA Flyer ID for drones of 100g or more, and an Operator ID for 250g or more, or 100g or more with a camera. Check the CAA Drone Code for where you can fly.

Are these prices in pounds?

Not all. Where a provider only publishes US dollar prices we show dollars, so check the price in pounds at checkout.

Do you get paid if I sign up?

Some links may become affiliate links, and we'll label them when they do. It doesn't change what we list. See how we make money.
