How much does ElevenLabs cost?
Short answer
ElevenLabs has a free plan with 10,000 credits a month. Website prices are in US dollars, excluding tax: Starter $6, Creator $22, Pro $99 and Scale $299 a month (checked 18 October 2026). The UK App Store lists Creator at £22. The free plan doesn't include a commercial licence, so a business needs Starter or above.

What do credits mean in practice?
On ElevenLabs' pricing page, text to speech with its Multilingual v2 model costs 1 credit per character. It estimates that works out at roughly:
- Free: about 10 minutes of speech a month
- Starter: about 30 minutes
- Creator: about 121 minutes
- Pro: about 600 minutes
Other features, such as speech to text, music and dubbing, use credits at different rates, so check the pricing page for the feature you'll use most.
ElevenLabs also says unused credits roll over for up to two months while you're on an active paid plan. Downgrading or cancelling forfeits them at the end of the billing cycle.
Worked example: picking a plan
Say you run a small driving school in Cardiff and want a short voicemail greeting, plus about 15 minutes of voiceover a month for social video clips.
- Add up your minutes. About 15 minutes a month, plus a one-off greeting.
- Match to a plan. Starter's roughly 30 minutes covers that, and it includes the commercial licence and instant voice cloning.
- Consider annual billing. ElevenLabs prices annual plans at ten months of the monthly price, so Starter works out at US$5 a month equivalent, before tax.
- Check the receipt. Add tax on top of the web price when budgeting.
- Review after three months. If you're running out of credits, Creator gives about four times as many.
This is a hypothetical. Your usage will depend on how much text you convert and which features you use.
Website or app?
The UK App Store lists in-app purchases including Creator Monthly at £22.00 and Creator Annual at £199.99 (checked 18 October 2026). Web prices are in dollars and exclude tax, so compare the final amount you'd pay before choosing.
What a small business might use it for
- A natural voice for a phone menu or voicemail greeting.
- Voiceovers for social videos and training clips.
- Reading out blog posts or guides.
Cloning a voice

Cancelling
ElevenLabs says you can cancel at any time. You keep access until the end of your billing cycle, then move to the free plan.
Common mistakes
- Using the free plan for business work. It has no commercial licence.
- Budgeting on the headline price. Web prices exclude tax.
- Forgetting the first-month discount ends. Check the full monthly price before you sign up.
- Cloning a voice without written permission.
