How do I use ChatGPT for marketing?
Short answer
Use ChatGPT to draft marketing emails, adverts, website pages, social posts and leaflets, to brainstorm offers and to summarise customer feedback. Give it real details about your business, customers and area, ask for several options, and edit in your own voice. Check every claim, price and legal point, and never let it invent reviews.
Seven jobs it does well
- Write a first draft of a service page.
- Turn a job into a short case study.
- Draft a monthly customer email.
- Write three Google or Facebook ad versions to test.
- Plan a month of social posts.
- Summarise reviews to find what customers value.
- Write a leaflet for a local drop.
A strong prompt
"You're helping a [business] in [town]. Our customers are [who]. Write a 120-word email offering [service], friendly and plain, British spelling, no exclamation marks, one clear call to action. Give three subject lines."
