How do I use AI for social media?

Last checked: 17 October 2026 · The AI Till, UK

Short answer

Use AI to plan a month of posts, turn job photos into captions, write variations for each platform and draft replies to comments. ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Canva and Meta's own tools all help. Keep your own voice, use real photos of your work, and follow UK advertising rules: no fake reviews, and clear labels on paid partnerships.

A simple weekly routine

  1. Ask AI for a 4-week content plan for your business and area.
  2. Take real photos on each job.
  3. Upload a photo and ask for three caption options in your tone.
  4. Adapt the best one for Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
  5. Schedule them in Meta Business Suite or your scheduler.

Prompt to try

"I'm a [trade] in [town]. Write three short Facebook captions for this photo of [job]. Friendly, no hashtag spam, end with how to book. British spelling."

What not to do

  • Don't invent reviews or customer quotes; fake reviews are banned under the DMCC Act.
  • Don't post AI images that pretend to be your work.
  • Don't make claims you can't back up; the CAP Code applies.
