Marketing, reviews and websites
Using AI for Google reviews, website content, social posts and images without breaking the rules.
- Can AI build a website for my business?
Yes. AI website builders from Wix, Squarespace, Hostinger and others can create a draft site, with pages, text and images, from a few answers about your business. ChatGPT and Claude can also write website code. You still need to add real photos, check every claim, set up contact details and make sure the site appears in Google. - Can I use AI to reply to Google reviews?
Yes. Using AI to draft replies to your Google reviews is allowed, and it helps you reply to every review quickly. Read and personalise each reply before posting, and never paste in customers' private details. What's banned is using AI, or anything else, to create fake reviews, offer incentives for reviews, or pressure customers about what to write. - Can I use AI-generated images in my business?
Generally yes, for things like social graphics, blog images and flyers, if you follow the tool's terms and don't copy other people's work, logos or likenesses. Don't present AI images as photos of jobs you actually did, as that can mislead customers under consumer law. And don't assume you own exclusive rights: UK law on AI-generated works is under review. - Does AI-written content rank on Google?
It can, if it's genuinely helpful. Google says it rewards original, high-quality content however it's produced, and that using AI isn't against its guidelines. Using AI to churn out pages mainly to manipulate rankings breaks its spam policies. AI gives no ranking boost either way; usefulness, accuracy and real experience are what count. - How do I add an AI chatbot to my website?
The easiest way is to use your website builder's own AI chat feature or a live chat tool with an AI assistant, then train it on your FAQs, services and prices. You usually paste a short code snippet or switch on an app. Tell visitors they're chatting with AI, offer a route to a person, and update your privacy notice. - How do I see if my business appears in Google AI Overviews?
Use Google Search Console. Its generative AI performance report, rolled out to all websites on 31 August 2026, shows how often links to your site appear in AI Overviews and AI Mode, broken down by page, country, device and date. No report usually means too few AI impressions so far. - How do I use AI for social media?
Use AI to plan a month of posts, turn job photos into captions, write variations for each platform and draft replies to comments. ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Canva and Meta's own tools all help. Keep your own voice, use real photos of your work, and follow UK advertising rules: no fake reviews, and clear labels on paid partnerships. - How can I use AI to find new customers?
Use AI to make yourself easier to find and quicker to reply, rather than to spam. It can tidy your Google Business Profile, answer reviews, write clear service pages, draft quotes in minutes and remind you to follow up. For outreach, it can research local businesses, but UK marketing law still decides who you may email or call. - How do you use an AI voice generator, and does it cost money?
To use an AI voice generator, type or paste your script, pick a voice and language, generate the audio and download it or drop it into your video. Canva has AI Voice built into its editor. ElevenLabs has a free plan, and its Creator plan is £22 a month in the UK App Store (checked 17 October 2026). - How do I use ChatGPT for marketing?
Use ChatGPT to draft marketing emails, adverts, website pages, social posts and leaflets, to brainstorm offers and to summarise customer feedback. Give it real details about your business, customers and area, ask for several options, and edit in your own voice. Check every claim, price and legal point, and never let it invent reviews. - How do you write prompts for AI website builders?
A good AI website builder prompt says what you do, where, for whom, and what visitors should do next. Include your services, area, tone, the pages you need and a call to action such as "call for a quote". The more real detail you give, the less generic the site. Then rewrite the copy in your own words. - Is Google's AI Overview accurate?
Often, but not always. Google says AI responses may include mistakes, and a Guardian investigation in January 2026 found misleading health advice in some AI Overviews, which Google then removed. Treat them as a starting point: open the linked sources, and check anything about health, money, law or safety with an official source. - What is the best AI for small business marketing?
For most UK small businesses, the best AI marketing setup is a chat tool such as ChatGPT or Gemini for words, plus Canva for images, video and voiceovers. Both have free plans. Feed them your real prices, customer questions and local area, then edit the result so it sounds like you, not like every other business. - Which AI is best for image generation?
For most small businesses, ChatGPT and Gemini make the best general-purpose images from a description, and Canva is easiest for turning them into posts and flyers. Adobe Firefly is a common choice when you want a tool its maker positions as safe for commercial use. All four have free options with limits.
