Does ChatGPT Plus include ChatGPT Work?
Short answer
Yes. ChatGPT Plus includes ChatGPT Work, OpenAI's agent for longer, multi-step jobs that end in a finished document, spreadsheet, presentation or report. Plus gets limited use of the newest Astra model in Work, with optional credits for more. Work replaced the older agent mode, and runs on the web, mobile and desktop apps.
Chat versus Work
| Chat | Work | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Quick questions and drafting | Multi-step tasks and finished deliverables |
| Example | "Rewrite this email" | "Research five local competitors and build a price comparison spreadsheet" |
| Can use connected apps and a browser | Limited | Yes, with your approval for important actions |
| Scheduled or triggered tasks | No | Yes, on eligible paid plans |
How to start
- Open ChatGPT on the web or in the app.
- Choose Work from the toggle or dropdown at the top.
- Add files and describe the result you want, including any checks.
- Review progress, answer its questions and approve actions such as sending.
Limits and costs
Work uses the same usage allowance as Codex. Plus has limited usage of the Astra model; Pro and Business Premium seats get more. OpenAI says event-triggered tasks aren't available on Free or Go. Plus is £19.99 a month in the UK App Store (checked 17 October 2026).
For a small business
Work is useful for research, reports and spreadsheets you'd otherwise spend an afternoon on. Check the output, and set app permissions so it asks before sending or deleting anything. See how to use AI agents in business.
