Moosend review UK: prices, free trial and catches
Moosend is email marketing software: newsletters, automated emails, landing pages and sign-up forms. It's one of the cheaper paid options for a small list. This review is for UK trades, shops and small businesses deciding whether to pay for it or stay on a free plan elsewhere. Prices and features come from Moosend's pricing page, read on 17 October 2026.
We don't use Moosend ourselves. Our daily email runs on beehiiv, so this is a review of what Moosend publishes and how it fits a UK small business.

The short version
- 30-day free trial, no card needed, with unlimited sends to up to 1,000 contacts.
- No free plan after the trial. You choose a paid plan or buy email credits.
- Pro costs $16 a month for 1,000 contacts, paying monthly, or $9 a month for 500. Paying yearly saves 20%.
- Prices are in US dollars, so the cost in pounds moves with the exchange rate.
- Best for: a small business that wants automated emails and landing pages for less than most rivals charge.
- Less good for: anyone who wants to stay free long term, or wants text messages too.

Larger lists, up to 1,000,000 contacts, are on Moosend's pricing page. Moosend counts unique email addresses, so a subscriber on two lists is billed once. Non-profits get a further 25% off.
Moosend+ is a custom plan: Pro plus any add-ons you pick, such as transactional emails, a dedicated IP or extra team members. Enterprise is priced on request.
Email credits are the pay-as-you-go option. Each credit is one email to one person, and credits don't expire, but the smallest bundle on the page was 350,000 credits for $350, which is more than most small businesses would send.
VAT: the pricing page doesn't say whether VAT is added, so check the total at checkout. Moosend accepts cards and PayPal; your card provider may charge a fee for paying in dollars.
What Pro includes
From the pricing page: unlimited email campaigns, marketing automation workflows (including multi-step ones and pre-built "recipes"), landing pages, subscription forms, an SMTP server, A/B testing, email heatmaps, real-time reports, live chat and email support, 80+ integrations and API access, and 5 team members.
Not in Pro: transactional emails (an add-on on Moosend+), SSO and an account manager.
The free trial includes the email builder, templates, AI Writer, automations, segmentation and unlimited sends for up to 1,000 contacts. The comparison table limits the trial to 1 published automation workflow, 1 unpublished form and 1 unpublished landing page, and 2 team members, so you can build forms and pages but not put them live until you pay.
The catches
- No free plan after 30 days. Brevo, Kit, Mailchimp and beehiiv all have free plans.
- Forms and landing pages can't go live on the trial.
- US dollar pricing.
- No SMS on the pricing page. If you want texts and emails together, Brevo does both.
- Credits suit big occasional senders, not a trade sending a few hundred emails a quarter.

Moosend, GetResponse and beehiiv were read on 17 October 2026; Brevo, Kit and Mailchimp on 15 October 2026, each on the provider's own page. Who you can email
The tool doesn't change the UK rules. Under PECR you need consent to send marketing emails to individuals, unless the soft opt-in covers your own past customers, and sole traders count as individuals. Don't import a bought or scraped list. Our newsletter guide sets out the ICO's guidance.
Who it suits
- Suits: a shop, salon, gym or service business with a list of a few hundred to a few thousand that wants automated emails (a welcome email, a "your service is due" reminder) at a low monthly price.
- Less good for: a trade that sends the odd email and wants to pay nothing, or a business that needs SMS.

Try it: Moosend has a 30-day free trial with no card needed. Build one automation, such as a welcome email, and send a test campaign to yourself before choosing a plan.
