Webflow review UK: prices and who it suits
Webflow is a website builder and host aimed at designers. You lay out pages visually with a lot of control over the design, and Webflow hosts the finished site. This review is for UK tradespeople and small businesses deciding between Webflow and simpler builders. Prices and features come from Webflow's pricing page, read on 17 October 2026.
We don't use Webflow ourselves. The AI Till is built differently, so this review is based on what Webflow publishes and how it fits a small UK business, not a long-term test.
Affiliate note: we've applied to join Webflow's affiliate programme. If we're accepted, the Webflow links on this page may become affiliate links, which could earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. It won't change what we say here. See how we make money.
The short version
- Free Starter plan for building and testing, but only on a webflow.io address, with 2 pages and 50 form submissions.
- To use your own domain you need a paid site plan. Basic is $25 a month paying monthly, or $15 a month billed yearly.
- A blog or other regularly updated content needs Premium, $39 a month paying monthly or $25 billed yearly.
- Prices are in US dollars, per site, with tax added at checkout.
- Best for: a business that wants a distinctive, well-designed site and will pay a designer or put in the hours to learn it.
- Less good for: a tradesperson who wants a decent site up this weekend with little effort. Look at Wix, Squarespace or Durable.
What it costs
Site plans from Webflow's pricing page, 17 October 2026, in US dollars per site:
| Plan | Paying monthly | Billed yearly | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | Free | Free | webflow.io address, 2 pages, 1 GB bandwidth, 50 form submissions, limited CMS |
| Basic | $25 a month | $15 a month | Your own domain, 300 pages, 10 GB bandwidth, unlimited form submissions, password protection; no CMS |
| Premium | $39 a month | $25 a month | Everything in Basic plus the CMS (blog posts, project galleries), site search, file uploads on forms, 50 GB bandwidth |
Selling online: ecommerce plans were Standard $42 a month paying monthly or $29 billed yearly (500 products, 2% transaction fee on top of Stripe or PayPal fees), Plus $84 or $74 (5,000 products, no Webflow transaction fee) and Advanced $235 or $212.
Other costs to know about: paid Workspace plans (from $28 a month paying monthly, or $19 billed yearly, for Core) add more staging sites and code export; extra full seats are $39 a month billed yearly; add-ons such as Analyze start at $9 a month billed yearly. Webflow's larger Team platform plan starts at $2,500 a month on an annual contract, which you won't need.
VAT: Webflow says applicable taxes are added at checkout, so expect VAT on top of these prices. You're billed in dollars, so the pound cost moves with the exchange rate.
The catches
- The learning curve. Webflow gives designers fine control, which also means more to learn than drag-and-drop builders. Many businesses using it pay a Webflow designer.
- Your own domain needs a paid plan. The free Starter plan only publishes to a webflow.io address.
- No blog on Basic. If you want to add jobs, news or project pages regularly, you need Premium for the CMS.
- You can't bring an existing site in. Webflow's FAQ says you can only build sites in Webflow and exported code can't be reimported.
- Cancelling: Webflow's FAQ says you can cancel at any time but still pay the rest of the term you signed up for, so a yearly plan is a year's commitment.
- Support is by email, with Webflow aiming to reply within 48 hours on site plans.
- Ecommerce Standard takes 2% of each sale on top of card fees.
What it does well
- Design control and clean, fast pages, hosted on Cloudflare's network according to Webflow.
- Built-in SEO controls on every plan: page titles and descriptions, alt text, Open Graph previews and canonical tags. 301 redirects and sitemap controls come with paid site plans.
- Unlimited form submissions from Basic, so quote requests won't hit a cap.
- Webflow AI can draft copy and sections, with some features needing a paid plan.
Webflow against the alternatives
| Builder | Free plan | Entry paid plan |
|---|---|---|
| Webflow | Starter, webflow.io address only | Basic $25 a month paying monthly ($15 billed yearly) |
| Wix | Free plan | Light $17.77 a month on yearly billing (USD shown; prices vary by location) |
| Squarespace | No free plan | Basic $25 a month ($19 billed annually) |
| Durable | Free plan | Launch $25 a month paying monthly ($22 billed yearly) |
| Shopify | 3-day trial | Basic £25 a month paying monthly (£19 billed yearly), for selling online |
Wix and Squarespace prices were read on 14 October 2026, Durable and Shopify on 15 October 2026, each on the provider's own page; see the tool pages for sources. Head to head: Wix vs Squarespace, Durable vs Wix and Shopify vs Squarespace. For the full list, see the best website builders.
Who it suits
- Suits: a growing firm, such as a builder, kitchen fitter or landscaper with a strong portfolio, that wants a site that looks different from competitors and has a designer to build it or time to learn.
- Less good for: a sole trader who wants a simple, cheap site with a phone number, a few photos and a quote form. An easier builder, or an AI builder such as Durable, will get you there faster.
Whichever you choose, keep your Google Business Profile up to date; for many local trades it brings in more enquiries than the website.
Trying it
Try it: Webflow lets you build on the free Starter plan for as long as you like. Build your homepage and a contact form on a webflow.io address first, and only pay for a site plan once you're happy to publish.
AI can draft the words for each page. Try this in ChatGPT or Claude:
Write the homepage text for my [trade] business in [town]. Include: a one-line headline saying what I do and where, three short sections (services, areas covered, why customers choose me), and a clear call to action to request a quote. British English, plain, no hype, under 250 words. Use only these facts: [list your real services, areas, years trading, accreditations].
Check every claim before it goes live, and don't let the AI invent reviews or accreditations.

FAQ
Is Webflow free?
Webflow's Starter plan is free, but it only publishes to a webflow.io address, with 2 pages, 1 GB of bandwidth and 50 form submissions. To use your own domain you need a paid site plan from $25 a month paying monthly or $15 a month billed yearly. Checked 17 October 2026.
How much is Webflow a month?
Basic is $25 a month paying monthly or $15 a month billed yearly; Premium, which adds the CMS for blogs and galleries, is $39 or $25. Prices are in US dollars per site, with tax added at checkout. Checked on Webflow's pricing page on 17 October 2026.
Is Webflow good for tradespeople?
It can produce an excellent site, but it takes more time to learn than Wix, Squarespace or Durable. If you'll build the site yourself and want it done quickly, an easier builder is usually a better fit. If you're paying a designer, Webflow is a strong option.
Does Webflow add VAT?
Webflow says applicable taxes are added at checkout, so a UK business should expect VAT on top of the listed price.
Do you earn money if I sign up?
Not at the moment. We've applied to Webflow's affiliate programme; if we're accepted, links on this page may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. See how we make money.
