Automatic Google review request tools (UK)
Asking every happy customer for a Google review works. The hard part is remembering. Automatic tools send the request after the job is marked complete, often by text or email, in a fixed sequence. This guide is about that automation layer. For free methods and reply prompts, see how to get more Google reviews. Prices checked on each provider's page on 14 or 15 October 2026.
Google's rule first
Google forbids offering incentives to post, change or remove reviews, and treats that as fake engagement (Google Business Profile help). Automation does not change that. Ask every customer the same way; never pay for a five-star rating.
What "automatic" usually means
- Job or invoice marked complete in your system (or a Zapier-style trigger).
- Customer gets a text or email with your Google review link.
- Optional second chase a few days later if they have not reviewed.
- Some tools also monitor other sites and help you reply.
If you finish only a handful of jobs a week, a saved text and your Google link may be enough. Automation earns its keep when asking by hand keeps slipping.

A sequence you can copy without software
Day 0 (job finished, customer pleased): short thank-you text with the Google link.
Day 3 (if no review): one gentle reminder, same link.
Stop after that. Two asks is enough.
Prompt: automatic-style first ask
Write a short SMS from [business name] to [first name] after we finished [job] today. Thank them, ask for a Google review using this link only: [link], and say no pressure. British spelling, under 40 words. Don't offer a discount or incentive for reviewing.
Prompt: second chase
Write a short follow-up SMS to [first name]. We asked on [date] for a Google review of [job]. One polite reminder with this link: [link]. Under 35 words, no incentive, British spelling.
When to pay for a tool
- NiceJob-type tools make sense if you close many domestic jobs a week and already run a job board.
- Podium is priced for multi-staff teams; try smaller tools first if you are solo.
- Trustpilot fits if you also want reviews off Google (online shop, nationwide service).

FAQ
Will automation get me banned by Google?
Not for sending a normal ask with your link. Problems start when you incentivise ratings, gatekeep who can review, or post fake reviews.
Can I only ask happy customers?
Google expects reviews to reflect genuine experiences. Filtering so only five-star customers get the link is against the spirit of the rules and can look manipulative. Ask everyone; reply honestly to criticism.
Is this different from your other Google reviews guide?
Yes. That guide covers free methods and reply prompts. This one focuses on request sequencing and paid automation.
