I want a simple spreadsheet to track [stock / jobs / expenses]. Suggest the columns, one example row, and any formulas I'd need, explained in plain English for Google Sheets or Excel.

Before you use it

• Leave out customer names, addresses and bank details; use placeholders.
• Ask for changes: "shorter", "less formal", "use British spelling".
• Check facts, figures and anything legal before sending.
